sincerest thanks to Empire Broadcasting Group for having me on the air.***
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to my practice in Clinical Psychology. With today’s ever-growing & diverse patient needs, emphasis on the integration of body, mind, and spirit is vital.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology (ABBCP), I am board certified in applying behavioral and cognitive sciences in understanding human behavior and developing interventions that enhance the human condition, empowering clients to make different choices and develop new patterns that will help them achieve the goals that matter most to them in all walks of life, young and old(er).
With an emphasis on interpersonal and problem-solving therapies and a background in behavioral medicine, I’m here not only to teach you to identify thoughts/behaviors/patterns that may be getting in the way of the life you want, but also to help you change communication styles toward achieving a more enriching and fulfilling lifestyle and relationships.
I work with clients ranging in age from 21 to 100 (it’s NEVER too late to change), and I cover 2 wide areas in my practice:
1) Half of my practice is dedicated to psychotherapy with clients who present with varying interests and conditions, ranging from assertiveness and communication skills; anxiety- and mood-management tools; improved social and romantic relationships; adjustment to different career and life stages; to preparing for transitions that accompany later years of life.
2) The other half of my practice targets behavioral weight management (BWM) for those seeking healthy weight loss & maintenance. This program walks you thru an approximately 3-month protocol of skills that address behavioral changes, promoting development and maintenance of a lifelong healthy relationship with food and exercise. Critical components of the program include cultivating healthy emotional coping, a positive social network, assertiveness skills, exercise, and food-logging. Each program is tailored to meet your individualized needs. Please refer to the BWM tab for more details on this unique program.
I am highly passionate about diversity and honoring awareness and sensitivity to individuals of diverse backgrounds. I am bilingual, fluent in English & Farsi, with some Spanish still in tact. As such, I am cognizant of assessing the role that cultural/developmental factors may play in your overall wellness. I have served in the roles of past Diversity & Membership Committee Chair & Representative to the Arizona Psychological Association Governing Council, and I continue to lead a year-long Diversity seminar for psychology trainees & the Psychology Diversity Action Committee at the Phoenix VA. My mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients and trainees feel empowered to cultivate positive changes in their lives and environments, serving as advocates for themselves and others.
Investing in yourself is one of the wisest decisions you can make, and I would be honored to serve on your healthcare team. Please refer to the “About Me” tab and services tabs for more details on my approach and services offered.
